The Origin of Human
The origin of Human, around 4 million years ago, the first hominids left the trees and began walking upright because of environmental changes, marking their transition to human status.
Human origin around 2.3 and 2.5 million years ago
The human origin Between 2.3 and 2.5 million years ago, early humans evolved the genus Homo. As a result, the genus Homo characterized by a significant increase in brain size.
1.9 million years ago
By 1.9 million years ago, these early humans developed tall skeletons similar to those of modern Homo sapiens. They also retained sloping foreheads, prominent brows, and heavy jaws.
1.8 million years ago
Around 1.8 million years ago, adventurous members of Homo erectus initiated the first great wave of human migration. They trekked out of Africa and into Europe and Asia. However, Homo erectus eventually went extinct. They failing to produce direct descendants among modern humans. The paleontologists discovered the partial skeleton of the renowned Australopithecus afarensis. They affectionately known as “Lucy,” in 1974.
In human origins, Lucy’s species inhabited eastern Africa between 3 and 4 million years ago. Which plays a leading role as a potential direct ancestor of Homo sapiens. Scientists classify these early hominids as Australopiths (meaning “southern apes”). This classification encompassing the genera Ardipithecus, Australopithecus, and Paranthropus. These early hominids stood approximately 3.5 to 5 feet tall sporting apelike faces with sloping foreheads and prominent jaws. They also had smaller canine teeth compared to apes and featuring hands with long, flexible thumbs.
That honour falls to the first members of our own genus. The origin of human as homo sapiens, who appeared in East Africa about 200,000 years ago. Today, only one human species, Homo sapiens, exists. Over the course of human prehistory as many as 15 varieties of early human walked the Earth. Though the number of species and their relationships to one another are not settled. It seems clear that the earliest hominids took their first steps in Africa.
