Palakkad: On Thursday, Meena Ganesh, a well-known Malayalam performer, passed away at her home in Ottappalam. She was eighty-one. While receiving therapy at a private hospital in Ottapalam, she passed away. She had a stroke and spent the last five days in the hospital.
After suffering a cerebral stroke, veteran Malayalam actor Meena Ganesh, 81, died at a private hospital in Shoranur, Palakkad. She performed in numerous plays, serials, and more than a hundred films throughout her career. Beginning in theater at the age of 19, she made her film debut in “Manimuzhakkam” and became well-known for her performance in “Mukhamudra.” Her daughter and son survive her.
The actor is well-known for her parts in the films Karumadikuttan, Nandanam, and Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum, which were all starring Kalabhavan Mani.
The senior actor starred in about 105 films since beginning her career as a theater performer at the age of 19. She is the spouse of the late AN Ganesh, a well-known theater and movie actor.
She is the daughter of Tamil film actor K.P. Keshavan and was born in Kallekulangara, Palakkad, in 1942. Meena actively participated in theater during her school years through her involvement with the Koppam Brothers Arts Club. She later got involved in the industry and performed in Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, and other Tamilnadu locations.
She wed the well-known actor, director, and playwright A.N. Ganesh in 1971. Meena and Ganesh founded the Pournami Kalamandir theater group in Shornur after getting married. However, the troupe split within three years owing to financial troubles. After that, she started collaborating with other groups on plays.
Her daughter Sangeetha and son and director Manoj Ganesh survive her. Shanthitheeram in Shoranur, Palakkad, will host the funeral on Thursday night.
