Coldplay in India | 4th Concert in Ahmedabad | Date and Tickets |
Coldplay a new event in India has been announced, with the venue being Ahmedabad. November 16 is when the tickets will go on sale.
Coldplay, a British band, has added another show to their India schedule. Arriving in India in January, the band will play three performances in Mumbai before traveling to Ahmedabad.
Coldplay Tickets Date
“2025 AHMEDABAD DATE ANNOUNCED for Coldplay: The band will play their biggest ever show, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, on 25 January, 2025,” the band announced on Twitter when they shared the news. Tickets will go on sale at 12 p.m. IST on Saturday, November 16.
UK-based band Coldplay will perform three gigs at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 20, 2025, as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour. These performances sold out minutes after tickets went on sale last month. Millions of people stood in virtual queues while many ticket hopefuls were unsuccessful.
In an effort to resale the tickets at outrageous prices, a number of scalpers also stockpiled them, which even prompted the involvement of the authorities.
The cyber wing of the Maharashtra police has sent a warning to BookMyShow, an online ticketing platform, requesting that it take stringent action, including banning the sale of name-based tickets for British band “Coldplay” performances in January and other events.
Scam of ticket reselling
On Wednesday, an official announced that the Maharashtra Cyber Police issued a notice to protect fans who buy tickets online from potential exploitation.
According to him, there are a growing number of grievances on social media and online forums on the difficulties in purchasing tickets for well-known concerts and events via online channels.
He noted that numerous individuals reported unresponsive websites during peak booking periods, which black-marketers exploit to resell tickets at exorbitant prices—up to ten times the original price.
According to the official, the Maharashtra Cyber concluded that the platforms’ efforts to prevent such instances are insufficient.
Amidst allegations of foul play in Coldplay’s online ticket sales for their January 2025 Navi Mumbai concert, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been actively filed in the Bombay High Court. This PIL seeks to establish stringent guidelines to combat black marketing and ticket scalping at major events, promoting fairness and transparency. By taking this proactive step, the petitioners aim to prevent unauthorized ticket reselling and protect fans from exploitation.
The PIL highlights
The PIL highlights that ticket sales for high-profile events like concerts and live performances perpetuate numerous anomalies and violations.
BookMyShow’s ticket sales for the Coldplay event in September. This revealed that resellers were actively hiking prices exorbitantly and unauthorized vendors were illegally selling tickets. This led to concerns about ticket availability and pricing fairness for genuine fans.
Tickets for the fourth performance will be on sale on BookMyShow. The same will be available at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025.
